About

We created HEROES to celebrate other people. But our own experiences are part of why these stories matter so much to us.
Why This Matters to Us
Brian Dietmeyer, Host

Brian has spent much of his career interviewing, teaching and working with people in the business world. But some of the experiences that have mattered most to him happened far away from work.
He's volunteered as a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish, fostered dogs and cats, and volunteered at a horse rescue. Earlier in life, he completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at night and on weekends while working full time.
Those experiences helped shape a simple belief behind HEROES: extraordinary doesn't always look extraordinary from the outside. Sometimes it's simply choosing to help, persevering when things are difficult, or doing something that matters when nobody is applauding.
brian@herostories.netMarie Dudek Brown, Producer

Marie knows something about quietly extraordinary lives because she’s lived alongside—and through—some difficult times herself.
As a single mother of two, she worked while taking college classes at night. She later began teaching Mental Health First Aid certification classes and organized art shows honoring artists who died by suicide, creating space for their work, their stories, and the people who loved them.
For Marie, HEROES is a natural extension of something she's long believed in: creating space for people to be seen and heard, honoring the stories that shaped them and celebrating the difference they've made.
